At Tusome Pamoja, there are two primary activities you can participate in.
1. Educational Programs
Tusome Pamoja holds a variety of literacy and numeracy workshops that are specifically designed to promote literacy and numerical skills among children and adults in an engaging manner. You can sign up to be a volunteer or peer mentor and tutor a child or adult one-on-one. Additionally, volunteers and peer mentors can offer small group tutoring and mentorship to students who need additional academic support.
2. Community Outreach
In addition to providing tutoring to SLIFE children, Tusome Pamoja is involved in various community and fundraising events that allow for more cultural exchange and social cohesion within the community. To further these goals, the youth of Tusome Pamoja has spearheaded the creation of the Teen Advisory Board (TAB) that is involved with volunteer work and community outreach events. Some future projects of the Teen Advisory Board include participating in the ReEstablish Richmond Multicultural Festival and organizing Tusome's own multicultural festival. Teens can become involved in the Teen Advisory Board by becoming a TAB member.
