Sidhartha Basu
Co-Founder
Sidhartha Basu is currently a high school sophomore at Deep Run High School in Glen Allen. His passion for working with refugees comes from the stories he has heard from his grandparents who have experienced transnational refugee migration firsthand and his interest in learning about different cultures. As a co-founder of Tusome Pamoja, he is seeking to make an impact by creating greater awareness of refugee and migrant issues and developing innovative ways of teaching that transform the learning experience and outcomes for the local refugee community.
Liz Wiznerowicz
Co-Founder
Liz Wiznerowicz is employed as the Director of Religious Education and is the volunteer leader of the Education Ministry at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. She is one of the founding members of Tusome Pamoja. She is a long-time Richmond resident, where she lives with her parents, husband, daughters and two dogs. She graduated from Oregon State with a BS in 1999. Although not a licensed teacher, she has been a homeschool mom for almost twenty years. She loves working with kids, especially teaching math and science.
Kenya Gray
Co-Founder
Kenya Morgan Gray is an experienced ESL teacher at Henrico County Public Schools. With 10 years of experience, she has helped newcomers and English learners improve their language skills. Kenya holds a degree in International Relations from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master's in Education in ESL from Mary Baldwin University. Her experience as an immigrant from Germany has motivated her to work with English learners. Kenya currently resides in the Richmond area with her husband and two dogs. Kenya believes in the resilience of all the students she encounters to thrive and be successful.
